Program Associate for the Council of Engineers on the Energy Transition (CEET) within the UNSDSN's Climate and Energy Team. The CEET is an independent advisory council to the United Nations Secretary-General that constitutes a global, high-level body of engineers and energy systems experts contributing to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Role:•Developed and executed multi-year program workplan and managed budget for an advisory body of 50 engineers delivering technical solutions to the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (EOSG) •Served as liaison to the EOSG, communicated regular project advances, and implemented a stakeholder engagement strategy to align priorities with and provide recommendations to 8 UN agencies•Provided technical expertise and insights for overall strategy development, and established processes and protocols for a newly established program to facilitate communication and ensure streamlined operations

Course: GPIM 461 Doing Business in China This course focuses on understanding current dynamics and challenges with doing business in China. There is a particular focus on China’s consumer markets, and on companies emerging to serve these consumers. Students will gain a broader understanding of key consumer industries in China, and in—depth expertise in one of those industries, will gain practical skills for analyzing companies and industries from strategic, organizational, and financial perspectives, and will learn some basics of fundamental company analysis.Role:• Facilitated consumer market trend lectures, hosted weekly office hours to answer student questions, and evaluated industry and company competitive analysis final projects for 52 graduate students

Supported the Regional Decarbonization Framework (RDF) project for the San Diego region. The RDF is intended to anchor the San Diego region in emerging best practices from across the nation and globally. It seeks to chart science–based pathways towards deep decarbonization that can be implemented in a feasible and expeditious timeline. It proposes a paradigm shift in our local economy.Role: •Provided research, writing and editorial support for the Regional Decarbonization Framework (RDF) project – a report laying out policy pathways to reach carbon neutrality by 2045 in power, buildings, and transportation sectors

Sinosphere is a student-run research journal affiliated with the 21st Century China Center at the UC San Diego, School of Global Policy and Strategy. The publication focuses on issues of Chinese domestic policy, national security, and foreign affairs.Role:• Reviewed original research contributions, providing evaluation, and approving papers for publication• Worked directly with authors to provide feedback and recommend appropriate edits• Managed a team of 1 publication manager and 3 associate editors & consulted with faculty review board from UCSD’s School of Global Policy & Strategy and 21st Century China Center

• Completed a hands-on project consulting for Qualcomm’s Smart Wearables Head of Global Business• Met with the client weekly to understand Qualcomm’s business model, predict the future of the mobile ecosystems and platforms and recommend how Qualcomm should prepare itself to develop the technology backend to sell into the moving communications market• Developed frameworks for predicting how the mobile ecosystem will evolve by identifying consumer core needs, pain points, and future desires, used these frameworks to construct a mobile ecosystem map visualizing the field 5-10 years in the future, designed a company positioning model, and presented recommendations to the Qualcomm Technologies team

• Worked closely with Senior Development Officer and team to attend meetings and represent UNHCR on socio-inclusion projects; wrote report on impact of cash transfer program to support urban-basedrefugees’ livelihoods during COVID-19• Contributed to writing a project proposal to increase clean and affordable energy access for refugee camps and host communities, and to rehabilitate degraded lands and ravines through soil and water conservation• Conducted joint assessments on environmental conditions and access to productive uses of energy to support household and business needs in 6 refugee camps and presented findings to UNHCR deputy representative• Liaised with UN agencies (FAO, UNCDF), Government of Rwanda (Ministry of Emergency Management), NGOs, and operational partners to implement budgets, specific interventions and programs that fulfill the Global Compact for Refugees Commitment on energy and environment

• Worked with a team of 8 university academics at the research facility: Cape Bounty Arctic Watershed Observatory in Melville Island, Nunavut to study climate change effects in high Arctic vegetation and soil systems• Collected and archived field data, making information accessible to the broader scientific community and contributing knowledge for best practices of managing Arctic watersheds and ecosystems

Punta Frances National Park, Cuba

• Joined a team of Cuban scientists on an expedition with Operation Wallacea, a network of university academics who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research initiatives • Collected measurements on invasive Lionfish specimens, and environmental data (salinity, temperature, aquatic vegetation) for surveys monitoring manatee populations• Completed stereo video surveys of the reef fish communities in order to provide accurate biomass data for coral community assessments, and help prioritize areas for conservation
