CurrentMy purpose has been to professionalize and stabilize the finance unit, create efficiencies within the business and effectively manage all financial resources and services so as to attain reliable, consistent and high standard service delivery for the business to support the attainment of corporate goals.Achievements:• Professionalization of the finance function for Kenya and Uganda e.g. upscaling of finance resources & putting in place the financial standards• Ensuring integrity of the financial data• Cost management – streamlined budget allocation and monitoring among the departments to ensure adherence to approved limits and organizational goals.Role and Responsibilities:• Budgeting and strategy formulation – including alignment of the process by adoption of budgeting templates, liaising with relevant internal teams in the Kenya and Uganda businesses to develop short, medium and long term financial plans and reporting on strategic objectives/ business performance.• Reporting and financial analysis – ensure reports are fit for purpose/ are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Timely submission of business, group, regulator and statutory reports. • Take charge of and control tax processes, computations, filings and submissions for the fund management business and respective Unit Trust products in Kenya and Uganda.• Stakeholder management – partner with the Boards of Kenya and Uganda, South African teams, other subsidiaries and leadership teams. As well as management of external stakeholders; Capital Markets Authority (CMA), Kenya Revenue Authority and suppliers.• Internal controls – develop, implement and enforce financial controls through the development of policies, authority levels/ mandates and deliver on business and internal control objectives.• Oversee and coordinate statutory reporting and audits
