headspace - Is the national youth mental health foundation. It provides mental health and wellbeing support, information and services to young people across Australia aged 12-25 years. Headspace works directly with young people and plays a significant role in raising awareness about mental health in the Australian community.Responsibilities:• Proposed youth leader and co-facilitator of SSASGD project on the Mornington Peninsula called ‘Pride in the Peninsula’. This will involve supervising and leading a weekly SSASGD support group in addition to hosting an annual SSASGD event, challenging homophobic bullying within the community.• As the ‘Pride in our Schools’ stream of the project, part of my role is to educate teachers and other professionals on issues relating to SSASGD young people and address how to deal with homophobic bullying within their institution.Achievements:• Experience in writing an extensive HEY grant application to support the ‘Pride in the Peninsula’ project as well as writing a personal support letter.• Liaising with project partners and developing relationships with stakeholders.• Attending a three day youth mental health camp in Anglesea, leading activities and supporting youth.

AYCC- the Australian Youth Climate Coalition is a generation wide movement dedicated to solving the climate crisis.Achievements:• Attendance at the National Repower Summit 2012, Melbourne.• Setting up local climate awareness events on the Mornington Peninsula, elections and wider involvement in National campaigns run by AYCC.
