Having completed my NQT year July 2014 I then spent 3 years as a Year 3 teacher (7-8 year olds). My role included, lesson planning, assessment, pastoral care and ensuring the children make progress. My school has been a champion school for 2simple's PurpleMash and I've help to instigate the use of chromebooks and ipads in our Computing lessons. I am an active member of the School's PTA committee, having recently been elected Vice-Chair, and have an unofficial role as the school's lead photographer! Show less

After returning from Maternity leave, I now work covering leadership in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, 2 days a week.

School experience as part of the PGCE, teaching year 1s. I was involved in weekly planning, specifically for Literacy and Numeracy, as well as planning my individual lessons in many curriculum areas. Subjects and topics covered include (but are not limited to) Literacy (Traditional Tales and Poetry), Numeracy (Money, Calculation, using Number Lines), PE (Hockey), Science (Plants and Growing things), Phonics and Art. Whilst on placement, I also attended the School Choir

Sporadic holiday work as a playworker/1:1 for children with varying Special needs, including Autism and Global Development Delay. I am responsible for the welfare of children, ensuring they have fun and safe play in a suitable environment. I run activities tailored to their needs and interests, as well as supervising on day-trips.
