Coordinates and completes complex network adequacy analyses related to strategic provider contracting initiatives and network design, in both existing and expansion service areas. Responsibilities included conducting data projects through NC COVID, communicating with local Health Departments to meet public health demands. I held the responsibility of assisting COVID positive patients with resource needs and CDC guidance, where I developed a proficient set of soft skills when working directly with patients.

In a vaccine support role, I provided non-clinical support for vaccine efforts and COVID-19 education/outreach in Western North Carolina (WNC). I was also responsible for data entry for local health departments and state systems. As a case investigator, I had the responsibility of identifying, assessing, managing, and educating those who have been infected or exposed to COVID-19.

Designed, coordinated, and implemented a new program to combat social isolation. Conducted wellness calls to Social Bridging Project (SBP) participants to identify lack of resources and barriers preventing socialization. Provided existing resources in the community to address a variety of barriers and engaged in meaningful conversations with participants. Researched and compiled information about existing programs that also address loneliness, social isolation, and existing barriers. Collaborated in the development of an additional program within the SBP to reach more older adults in Buncombe County.

Designed a health messaging campaign related to COVID-19 for Beaver College of Health Sciences. Conducted a national search of state-level and municipal-level policies related to COVID-19 to create a policy database.

The Appalachian State Public Health Club serves to improve professional growth to help students prepare for careers in the public health field by providing them the opportunity for practical experience in applying public health concepts on campus and in the community. My role as head of Fundraising allows me to work with our Treasurer in the area of fundraising. My duties extend to reaching out to community partners (On and Off-Campus) and discuss possible collaboration with them. Using my communication skills, I express the ideas our club has and create and organize fundraising goals.
