Assumed dual responsibilities as Advocacy Manager and interim Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President of Advocacy, Communications, and External Affairs (ACE), managing and guiding strategic initiatives across five programmatic areas. Oversaw more than $1 million in state and federal investments to advance evidence-based policy solutions. Acted as a liaison to the Board and five programmatic areas, cross-coordinating and supporting the development and execution of advocacy, communications, and external affairs strategies. Developed and implemented comprehensive external affairs strategies, including coordinating four senior board influencer trips with elected officials, creating three new AV-branded events to expand the organization’s presence in key cities and constituencies, sourcing national and state partners, and establishing a new internal processes to integrate state-level efforts across all programmatic areas.

Managed engagement and oversight for six client account teams accounting for $780k of the organization’s annual revenue, and supported new client development resulting in $120k in additional revenue.

Built executive visibility plans for C-suite clients, that led to more than 20 media placements in key trade and national outlets including Politico, CNBC, Forbes, TIME Magazine, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Inside Higher Ed that heightened awareness to increase college access.

Led social media campaign that bolstered a Fortune 100 C-suite executive’s LinkedIn presence, resulting in increased followers by 5,726% since March 2020, recognition as a LinkedIn influencer, and 2020 Top Voice for U.S. influencers.

Reported to the Chief of Staff and assisted the executive team with special projects. Served on the advance team for President Margaret Spellings’ state-wide tour, assisted with the UNC System brand redesign and execution of launch events, and curated a summary of system-wide behavioral health data trends that led to a multi-day convening on best practices to alleviate challenges students were facing.

Collaborated with the Chancellor and department leaders to coordinate on-campus visits and tours for top donors, alumni, and senior officials. Developed a strategic communication schedule and crafted notes for the Chancellor to send to distinguished guests after each campus visit.
