About Elizabeth (Lizzy) Brahin
I'm a senior from downtown Chicago studying Applied Math and Economics. During my time at Harvard, I've been an investment banking summer analyst at Goldman Sachs, interned on the revenue team at GitHub, done strategy research at Harvard Business School, and managed the online store for the multi-million dollar student-run Harvard Shop (HSA). Outside of internships, I've been a D.E. Shaw Discovery Fellow, Adecco CEO for One Month Finalist, and Harvard Human Flourishing Fellow. I am currently Co-President of the Chicago Area Students of Harvard, was CDO of Harvard Smart Woman Securities and CFO for Harvard Women in Entrepreneurship, and am a member of the Harvard Innovation Labs. As a product of Chicago Public Schools, I'm also passionate about education. Outside of Harvard, I'm an advisor for two nonprofits: 1) Queens United Chess, an organization I co-founded that works in partnership with Chicago Public Schools and Chess.com (ChessKid) to bridge the gender divide and remove the cost barriers to chess, and 2) the Junior Economic Club, a national organization with 1500+ members/alumni from 17 cities equalizing access to the business world, funded by Magnetar Capital and Sam Zell's Zell Family Foundation. Previously, I led a citywide financial literacy magazine that served tens of thousands of teens throughout Chicago through financial literacy resources, presentations, and publications.
