With over three decades of serving in various roles in education contexts (k-12 and higher education), I have found my greatest joy is in empowering others to succeed. Others may include individuals I work with or oversee, students in the programs I have led, and/or organizations where I have worked. As a former Dean of a School of Education, we almost doubled our enrollment in three years because we focused on investing in our students by strengthening curriculum, developing streamlined programs, and building strategic partnerships. Most recently I have served as an Associate Faculty member and Program Director, where I used my past experiences as a dean to overhaul curriculum and move the program I oversaw to completely online to better serve students. My key strengths lie in my ability to assess, analyze and innovate, while also developing high quality teams. I believe that human capital and knowledge resources are two of the greatest assets in any organization. Investing in people, helping them to thrive and flourish, builds the value of human capital. Fostering curiosity, helping employees to identify their strengths, and understanding how to build their diverse capacity, can create an environment where knowledge becomes not only a resource but a powerful tool to support an organization's goals. Achieving goals, while also investing in people, is a key to success in any organization in my experience. Listening, teaching, consulting and leadership are skills that I use to help individuals and organizations to achieve success. These skills are important but have limited relevance without humility and a commitment to growing and developing. I am excited to move into a new way of using my experiences and skills in an environment that values people and innovation, fosters curiosity, and seeks ways to make the world a better place. I have also invested in my own professional and personal growth through my educational pursuits; I have a BA in Liberal Studies, an MA in Education, a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership, two credentials in teaching and counseling, multiple training certificates and I have even earned various awards.
