About Elizabeth Cooper

Elizabeth is an experienced Energy and Climate Change specialist. Elizabeth is currently a Senior Strategy Advisor in the Net Zero Buildings Strategy team at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Prior to this she worked in policy development for BEIS's Business Energy Use team and Ofgem’s Renewable Electricity, New Transmission Investment and Energy Companies Obligation teams.Previously, Elizabeth worked as an Energy Consultant at LDA Design, after working at BioRegional and the Zero Carbon Hub. She advised public, private and third sector clients on energy efficient design, renewable energy systems and climate change adaptation. She undertook policy analysis, modelled energy demands and output from renewable technologies, produced feasibility studies and worked to engage stakeholders. This built on the knowledge and skills developed in through an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures and an MSci in Physics.
