Providing online Compassion-focused Coaching Supervision sessions with current Difference Leaders, supporting their work as Senior Leaders in Alternative Provision and SEMH schools"A key aspect of CFC is helping teachers to develop their own compassionate attributes and skills (toself and others), and to organise their educational approach with the systems and processes tocultivate safe and compassionate learning environments. Through training, supervision, andcoaching experiences, teachers deepen their learning about compassion and relationships throughan evolutionary understanding of ‘tricky brains’, emotions, and motivational systems, and how toapply this in each aspect of their teaching roles (with children, families, each other, and themselves).The Difference Leaders acquire a grounding in the science of compassion, and in CFT techniqueswhich have been developed to promote wellbeing. They also gain confidence in working withemotion and emotion regulation systems, and in cultivating a de-shaming approach to teachingvulnerable children.CFC is delivered as fortnightly online supervision sessions (90 mins), in groups of 3 or 4, whereteachers discuss their experiences of teaching and students, and of leadership and systems. They arealso encouraged to reflect on their own emotions and their own fears, blocks and resistances tocompassion (in relation to the work). The sessions are facilitated to create opportunities for mutualsupport and to foster a sense of belonging / connection for teachers – laying safe foundations withinthe team from which teachers are enabled to make wise (and often difficult) decisions in the interestsof their students."
