Flextime home-based data/records processor. Handling confidential client/patient records, data updates, billing, and financial reporting, 8-12 hrs. per day. Administrative Duties: Answers telephones, screens callers, relays messages and schedules appointments. Research billing guidelines for individual health plans, applicable ICD-10 codes and reviews charts notes for approval of various medications, procedures, and imaging. Types informative correspondences and letters to be forwarded to various insurance plans on behalf of the providers. Go-to person for new developments in prior authorization/pre-approval procedures and determining the impact of implementing these updates, such as Senate Bill 680. Reduces task backlog back 50% within 16 weeks of starting the job. Coordinates the referrals of patients to specialists in the area and follows up with their insurance plans for approval as needed. Clinical Duties: Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician and multiple PAs. Assists in a variety of procedures such as wart removal, PAP smears, triple swabs, BioTe hormone insertion, etc. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Informs patients of costs for care being provided and guides them to appropriate resources for further information. Administers routine vaccinations and injections as requested by the providers. Processes urine drug screenings, blood draw, urine analyses and routes results to the appropriate provider. Advises patients of results of blood work, mammograms, PAP smears and additional imaging as requested.
