I am in charge of monitoring and updating job listings for prospective tutors. I then analyze and evaluate incoming applicants and organize and conduct interviews. I use a variety of templates and documents to then lead successful candidates through the Beyond the Classroom hiring process.

I create, organize, and implement a wide variety of elementary-level Reading, Writing, Math, and French lessons and activities for one-on-one tutoring sessions. I provide both students and their parents with constant feedback after each session, as well as a comprehensive written progress report biannually. I always tailor each session to each student and enjoy including creative and interactive activities and games to reinforce the curriculum and homework help.I tutor students all around Burlington and Oakville, travelling to each student's home for the highly personalized, flexible, one-on-one sessions.

I continue to gain valuable customer service experience and problem-solving skills through assisting visitors with a range of inquiries. I create, edit, and maintain organizational systems and publications for various office tasks and tourism events. I am continuously given more and more responsibility to manage projects and event documents for visiting tour groups and local residents. I help to proofread and edit the annual Burlington visitor guide which is then distributed locally, regionally, and internationally. Each year, I also assist in training and supervising new summer staff members.

I assisted with a large, global education initiative project by applying my knowledge of elementary education and curriculum to research for new teaching resources. I explored and organized research findings from a variety of formats into a cohesive document.

Throughout my time with the Halton board, I followed many different types of lesson plans and daily agendas to manage each classroom effectively. I also made sure to arrive at each job assignment with creative ideas and supplies to ensure a positive experience for both myself and the students. I fostered good connections with the students and the staff I worked with each day and always adapted to the wide variety of responsibilities and tasks I was given at each school. These ranged from rotating between classrooms for individualized Special Education support, supervising students during in-class, library, and extra-curricular activities, assisting with lesson planning and preparation, and leading extra lessons and activities to supplement the given plans and schedules.

I followed a diverse curriculum to instruct up to 3 students per session in elementary reading, writing, and math programs, as well as secondary school-level and university-level English and study skills. I also helped to organize the summer Jolly Phonics literacy and JUMP math programs. I supplemented these sets of curriculum with my own creative activities and games to help the students apply the various lessons.

I implemented the set Sylvan academic reading, writing, and beginning reading lesson plans using a variety of resources and strategies to coordinate a range of age groups and learning needs in the up to 3:1 ratio of students.

I constantly demonstrated dedication to the categorization and maintenance of library materials and when given the responsibility of staffing the electronic check-in and check-out counters. I was chosen to help with many of the youth activities in the department each month. I always enjoyed being able to apply my knowledge and passion for children’s literacy, as well as my excellent customer service skills when assisting library patrons in the department.
