I am a music education change agent. My goal is to, through my work and courageous collaboration, carry music education forward into a new world of inclusivity and relevance. I am a 21 year public school music teaching veteran. I have experience teaching and directing music programs serving students in K-12 instrumental (strings), choral, and general music in the diverse music city of Seattle, WA. My educational programming in the public schools and in the greater performing arts community is known throughout the country. I am a nationally recognized leader in the field of music education and over the years have served the music education and music industry communities through leadership positions with the American String Teachers Association, The National Association for Music Education, and the International Bluegrass Music Association. In 2015, I was a semifinalist (one of twenty-five candidates) for the Grammy Music Educator Award. In 2018, I was a recipient of the Country Music Association Music Teachers of Excellence Award. I am a curriculum writer for the NAfME/ Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Curriculum.
