    Director/CEO of $965M federal health care system with three inpatient divisions and seven outpatient clinics serving 90,000 Veterans in ten counties in Northern California for fifteen years. Affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, VAPAHCS had the second largest research enterprise in VA, trains 1500 residents, interns and students and is home to every specialized Veteran treatment modality offered in the VA system. Was responsible for all administrative and clinical aspects of VAPAHCS, including vision, strategy and master planning for facilities. VAPAHCS construction portfolio exceeded $2.5B and included new leased clinics in Monterey and San Jose and VA owned clinics and a community living center in San Joaquin County and in Fremont. Planning was also underway for a 350,000 square foot ambulatory care clinical addition on the Palo Alto campus. Led VAPAHCS and piloted for VA implementation of Lean in healthcare through the VAPAHCS Service Improvement Model (SIM). Introduced Veteran and Family Advisory Council practice in 2010 locally; became a model for VA system. Developed VAPAHCS customer service model - SERVE - Say Hello, Engage, Verify, Respond, Exit. Coach, mentor, trainer for numerous VA leaders at all levels.
