E5 bought The Hollywood Reporter and several other trade papers from Nielsen Business Media on Jan. 1, 2010. E5 recently changed its name to Prometheus Media.

Los Angeles As the top editor of the paper, oversaw the editorial content of the paper, from breaking news to analysis pieces to features and special reports. Directly responsible for setting the tone and direction of coverage as well as story development, editing, headline writing and placement in print. Undertook a complete redesign of the daily paper and the website within first year onboard. Involved in THR franchise events like Women in Entertainment Power Breakfast, Key Arts marketing awards and Power Lawyers. Wrote a column called Voiceover as well as news stories and features; represented the paper on various panels, at markets/festivals and in TV/radio interviews.

During 20 years at Variety, held various positions, beginning as a foreign correspondent in Europe and continuing in New York and subsequently in Los Angeles as a reporter, then editor, including titles international editor, managing editor, executive editor and editor at large.

During 20 years at the entertainment trade paper in various locales, covered European territories as a foreign correspondent in Rome, Paris and London, including pieces on government policy, reviews of TV series and movies, reports from various trade shows and festivals, and breaking news about projects and deals. Back in New York and subsequently in Los Angeles, held various management positions, including oversight of the foreign stringer staff, managing the newsroom, editing Weekly and Daily Variety stories, writing a column, and representing the paper at various events, panels and trade shows.

While residing in Rome, edited and did layout/proofing for Italy's English-language daily newspaper; also during that period, freelanced stories for a variety of newspapers and magazines including Advertising Age, the Daily Express, the International Herald Tribune, Religious News Service, Attenzione Magazine and Variety.

While living in Paris, taught English language skills and basic literature to French businessmen at the bank Credit Lyonnais and at other Gallic corporations like Pechiney and Generale des Eaux.

Taught English literature, writing skills and basic economics/business to a cosmopolitan student body of Americans, Europeans and Africans.

Taught English and basic economics to Italian and other foreign college students.

Translated and edited political essays and policy papers from Italian and French into English for publication in the Institute's English-language periodicals.
