Supervisor- Project and Discipline Engineers. Ensure all engineering tasks managed by Major Enterprises Projects (MEP) Engineering organization are managed consistently and thoroughly. Key engineering activities include cost estimate for engineering design, scope documentation, oversight of detailed engineering and design work, oversight of engineering changes, maintaining engineering design configuration, performance of integrated system testing, and project closeout activities. Knowledge area lead for Scope Management.

Supervisor overseeing 11 Component Engineers. Key group deliverables is to resolve equipment issues to maintain or improve reliability. Oversee the conduct of component/system monitoring to enhance component/system performance and identify adverse trends.

Supervisor overseeing 9 System Engineers. Key group deliverables is to resolve equipment issues to maintain or improve reliability. Oversee the conduct of component/system monitoring to enhance component/system performance and identify adverse trends.

First line supervisor overseeing Maintenance crews. Oversee routine maintenance activities and surveillance testing.

System Engineer for the HPCI, RCIC, RWCU, Nuclear Boiler, MSIVs and SRVs, Torus Water Management System and Primary Containment. Responsibilities included supporting Operation and Maintenance organizations, managing safety system performance, implementation of Maintenance Rule, and optimizing RWCU system performance. Assumed duty of System Outage Manager for assigned system outages, I&C/Electrical task manager lead for resolution of SRV failure to lift during performance testing.

Responsibilities included the performance of reportability determinations, LER evaluations, compilation and OSRO presentations, implementation of RACTS system, interfacing with senior management and NRC in a professional manner, site lead interface during NRC inspections.

Duties included performing pre and post job ALARA reviews, implementation of radiological controls to minimize worker dose.

System Engineer for the HPCI, RCIC, Torus Water Management System and Primary Containment during entire time period. Other system assignments included Core Spray, Hydrogen Recombiners, Fire Protection, Secondary Containment, Containment Atmosphere Cooling, Containment Atmosphere Control and Containment Pneumatic. Responsibilities included system monitoring, BWROG representative for HPCI and RCIC, DER resolution response, PDC evaluation, spare parts review, overseeing annual system outages scheduling, supporting Operations and Maintenance organizations, and development of detailed gameplans.

Develop, administer and evaluate written and operating examinations for licensed operator candidates. Through the job of Licensing Examiner, became very knowledgeable in the use of EOPs, AOPs and Technical Specifications. Participated as a member of the NRC Think Tank during RERP drills. During this period of time, provided Senior Resident coverage at an assigned site, and participated in reactive and special safety inspections. Certified General Electric BWR and Non-Power Reactor Operating Licensing Examiner.

Performed the basic Resident Inspector program which included system walkdown, observation of operations, surveillance and maintenance activities. Assisted LaSalle resident inspectors in their review of the License’s response to a Part 50.54(f) letter. Successfully completed and oral board for certification as a Resident Inspector based on obtaining an in-depth knowledge, experience and professionalism in the following areas: NRC and IR manuals, 10 CRF, Regulatory Guides, enforcement, industry codes and standards, FSAR, Technical Specifications, licensee procedures, NRC inspection program, plant emergency scenarios and plant specific systems. Project Inspector, Dresden (BWR 3), LaSalle (BWR 5), and Quad Cities (BWR 4) Stations. Prepared daily reports, coordinated inspection activities and overseeing SALP process for assigned sites. Prepared enforcement packages and served as a member of enforcement boards.

Nuclear Engineering Department, Nuclear Steam Supply Systems group. Assigned duties included dealing with operations and construction departments and the review of plant design documents. Engineering Assistant in the design of the Nitrogen Inerting System.
