Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

With no specific knowledge of the marine sector, I quickly established myself as the first woman to take on this role. As a competent and experienced leader, I gained the trust of a complex and varied stakeholder base while acquiring the relevant specialist knowledge in this unfamiliar area, while also bringing stability, focus and direction to the MMO's c100 coastal operational staff.

I delivered a high profile and sensitive change programme to assist with closing this independent arms' length body, including leading on complex and challenging negotiations with internal staff and Central Departmental staff and unions

I delivered high quality, rigorous inspections of all aspects of courts systems in England and Wales, the outcomes of which were accepted by senior official, Ministers and judges, and resulted in improvements being made.

I created and ran this newly formed, independent organisation. I developed complaint-handling policies and procedures which met the Ombudsman's standards of fairness and proportionality and successfully led a new team to provide high quality services to customers.I gave policy advice to the Ombudsman, who was new to the justice system, helping him to establish his constitutional position as an office holder independent of Government and the judiciary.I also helped the Ombudsman… Show more I created and ran this newly formed, independent organisation.
