A highly experienced researcher, educator, and teacher educator with extensive experience working in the primary, secondary, and tertiary education sectors in the UK, Australia and Southeast Asia. I hold a PhD from the University of Melbourne, an MA in Education and International Development from UCL, Institute of Education, and a BA (Hons) Politics from the University of Liverpool. With excellent written and spoken communication skills I am able to synthesise complex information and effectively present ideas creatively to a wide range of audiences. I am skilled in working and communicating effectively in cross cultural situations. I have highly developed critical thinking and specialised, academic research skills. I've conducted research for various agencies including UNESCO, Room to Read, and Refugee Education UK. As an Honorary Fellow of Melbourne university, I have continuing involvement in collaborative research projects. My research interests focus on teacher education, the interrelationship between culture and education, and issues surrounding policy implementation.As an educator, I have a strong commitment to high quality teaching that emphasises collaboration, participation and reflection and the development of stimulating course content.I have widespread field experience working within the education sector in Southeast Asia with a range of multilateral, bilateral and Non-Governmental Organisations.
