Direct state government affairs on behalf of the University including appropriations advocacy, legislative and policy based advocacy. Work as a liaison between the University and elected officials to ensure WSU priorities, activities, and endeavors are communicated; connect WSU leaders to appropriate state government officials for purposes of informing policy, ensuring university perspectives are represented on boards, councils, and commissions; and generally working to ensure WSU has an active presence in Lansing. Assist the VP on any and all other duties as assigned.

Advocate for system specific priorities and goals; work with and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal elected officials; track, analyze, and assist in soliciting feedback on proposed legislation and regulations; work on PAC related items; work with internal and external stakeholders regarding issues that intersect with the Henry Ford Health System mission, vision, and values.
