About Elizabeth Mossop

Elizabeth Mossop is founding principal of Spackman Mossop + Michaels, known for their innovative landscape architecture in the United States and Australia. Spackman Mossop + Michaels specializes in the design of the public landscape, parks, urban spaces and infrastructure. Their work has been recognized by numerous awards, including the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, the Council of Building Design Professions, the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and the Australia Council.Elizabeth is Dean of Design Architecture and Building at the University of Technology in Sydney. She was Professor of Landscape Architecture and Director of the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University, from 2004 until 2016. Prior to taking up this position, she was Associate Professor and Director of Masters in Landscape Architecture Programs in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design where she was a faculty member from 1999. Prior to this she was Director of the Landscape Architecture Program at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Her teaching and research focus on issues in contemporary landscape design, urbanism and infrastructure. Specialties: landscape and urban design, infrastructure, productive landscapes.
