Elizabeth A. Murphy is a recognized creative strategist and facilitator with 30 years of experience working in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. Her consulting firm, The Murphy Group, Inc., (MGI) has a reputation for delivering a highly-customized approach specifically tailored for each client. Her career has been in service to a wide range of missions including healthcare, the arts, disaster response, education, and community organizing & advocacy. Select clients: Since 2011, in a part-time position, Murphy has led the development of the G. R. Dodge Foundation’s statewide initiative Creative NJ--a community engagement project that fosters innovative cross-sector collaboration in cities. In 2016, she launched the Disaster Philanthropy Playbook, a multi-year project of the Council of NJ Grantmakers and Center for Disaster Philanthropy which was co-conceived, managed and written by Murphy. This one-of-a-kind national resource highlights philanthropic strategies, innovative practices and lessons learned in response to disaster preparedness and recovery. In 2014/15, Murphy was a member of the Pre-K Our Way founding team, a statewide initiative dedicated to pre-k expansion, launched by Maher Charitable Foundation, for which she designed and implemented a statewide stakeholder engagement program.Prior to founding MGI, Murphy served as executive director for the American Liver Foundation Mid-Atlantic Chapter, as Creative Producer for three arts organizations, and has raised more than $10million for a variety of missions. Murphy has produced over 125 theatrical productions throughout NYC, NJ, Ireland, UK, and Australia, and as assistant producer on 4 Broadway shows including the Tony Award winning Falsettos. She has been an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson U., U of Nevada/Las Vegas, and Hofstra U. Born and raised in NYC, Murphy holds dual citizenship (USA & Irish/EU) and from 2008-12 she lived/ worked in Ireland. She is an avid kayaker & closet poet
