Originally from Buffalo, NY, I moved to Pittsburgh in 1995 to attend the University of Pittsburgh for graduate school in Social Work. I studied psychology in college, focusing on child development, earned my Master's in Social Work, and later earned a second Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach grades K-6 and N-4 in Pennsylvania. My working years have been dedicated to serving young children. The few years I did not work were to stay home with my own children, but I was able to substitute teach on occasion to maintain my classroom skills.I worked for 5 years as an assistant teacher in a Montessori classroom for 6-9 year olds (1st, 2nd, 3rd grades). I then worked for 2 years assisting in a Montessori Early Childhood environment while I completed my Montessori Early Childhood certification through a MACTE accredited program. In August of 2017 I began as a lead teacher in a public Montessori school in Pittsburgh for an Early Childhood classroom (3 - 6 year olds).
