I worked under Dr. Cerione, using biochemical techniques such as protein synthesis with primers, PCR reactions, and glutamine assays to determine how many amino acids in the N-terminus of glutaminase C are necessary for activation of the enzyme. Knowing this will give us a better understanding of how the enzyme is activated.
