As of May I will have completed my Human Resources Management Diploma from British Columbia Institute of Technology which has given me a strong skill set in areas such as Training and Development, Recruitment and Selection, Finance and Conflict Management. Furthermore I have developed my Communications, Marketing and Strategic Planning skills with a variety of courses and practical applications. I plan to complete my education through evening and distance courses to achieve my BBA, and I am a BCHRMA member and I am planning on writing the NKE exam in May the first CHRP exam, and I plan to fully obtain my designation within the next 5 years. I have over four years in retail management in which my duties included hiring, training and motivating up to 20 staff members while achieving goals such as the number one store in B.C. during peak seasons. I am a people oriented, hard-working, dedicated individual with strong interpersonal skills and thrive on new challenges. I have been in sales for over five years and have been promoted quickly within the companies I have worked for because of my strong work ethic and passion for employee development. My experience with the Body Shop has taught me to look for opportunities to work with companies that stand for something, and that believe in their employees. As a manager I have always taken this philosophy very seriously and am passionate about coaching staff so they can achieve their goals, and often pushing them to reach their potential. I believe when you put the effort into the individual and value the employee the result is a work environment that better adapts to customer needs and in turn higher employee satisfaction.
