Over the last 20+ years of my career, my greatest achievements have always been my people, my teams. Helping them grow in their studies, their roles and their careers has been humbling and joyous. There is genuinely no greater delight than watching the people I have taught, mentored and bonded with succeed, together and individually!Part of my success is due to being flexible in my leadership and management methods and adaptable to my people’s needs. The other part is truly caring for them on a personal level. It is something you cannot fake and will make or break a team.And trying my best to never schedule class or meetings for a Monday morning! 😆I spent over 20 years in Emergency Management and CBRN/WMD Defense with the US Air Force. I love teaching (see above) and team building, exercise design and plan writing. It taught me to expect the unexpected and be prepared to react to it.Since then, I’ve dabbled in public health, I took a serious leap into physical security and now find myself working with some of the largest utility systems on the west coast.I cannot wait to see what happens next!“Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look upon them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death.”
