CurrentProject Lead, Students Stewards of the Redwood Creek Watershed, Jan. 2016- present. Lead year-long watershed education and perform all project management tasks for MSI’s program of monthly education experiences for a cohort of 6 th graders, and high schoolmentors, resulting in increased knowledge of the watershed and climate change. Other responsibilities include conducting extensive evaluation activities and generating reports. Marine Science Instructor, Feb. 2012 – present. Teach experiential marine science to students ranging in grades from pre-Kindergarten through college. Teach school, public, membership, and birthday programs that are presented at MSI's facility, on MSI’s research vessel, in Bay Area schools, at education events, and at other outdoor facilities. Provide a safe and positive learning environment. Properly handle live aquatic organisms and artifacts. Maintain educational equipment, company vehicles and facility grounds. Continuously update knowledge of Marine Ecology, Ichthyology, Plankton, Benthic Ecology,Physical Oceanography and current events of the San Francisco Bay Estuary and the Pacific Ocean. Preform duties of a crew member while teaching on MSI’s ship. Summer Marine Camp Lead Instructor, June 2014- Aug 2014. Created staff’s daily schedules, assigned and supervised setup and clean up jobs, assisted Camp Manager in creating curriculum, and assisted camp staff as needed. Summer Marine Camp Instructor, June - Aug 2013-2015. Taught experiential summer camp curriculum while maintaining a safe and fun camp environment for campers.
