- Responsible for the operation, monitoring and control of the water network for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Region. - Monitoring network configuration& performance and identify opportunities to optimise the water network.- Coordination of operations, maintenance and project works to ensure continuity of water supply and safety to both personnel and the environment.- Involvement through whole project life-cycle - Management of environmental flows from dams and extraction from waterways for drinking water in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) licence requirements- Asset criticality assessments, - HAZOP, risk assessments and RCA- Identifying maintenance requirements, FMECA

- Review of the QMS process - Supervision of the Water Meter Replacement Program, involving coordination with external contractors - Procedural reviews, reporting and process improvement investigations- Reviewing the process of work flow between work teams branches - Analyse and report on maintenance trends, branch performance and monthly KPI data- Assist in management of electrical and mechanical assets including updating technical documentation and seeking approval for CAPEX projects- Investigate new technologies and analyse current practices for efficiency gains- Assist in the development of the competency system and contribute to training both internal and external staff procedures

- Monitor plant performance and investigate optimisation opportunities- Ensure water was treated to the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines Standard- Direction to operators on the operation of the water treatment plant- Develop, review and implement procedures and safe work method statements for all work required at the treatment plants- Commission new SCADA systems and train operators in the changes- Review functional specifications for new equipment and processes - Project co-ordination, safety isolations and commissioning during augmentation of the primary water treatment plant - Contractor management and works scheduling during multiple projects - Development of laboratory procedures, new equipment purchasing and trialling- Investigation, design and implementation of a new chemical dosing system- Plant trials including implementation of potassium permanganate trial, adjusting dissolved air filtration supernatant to optimise filtration

- Investigation into biosolids contamination at Wastewater Treatment Plant- Optimisation of the dewatering process at Wastewater Treatment Plant- Review of dangerous goods storage at all water and wastewater treatment plants - Tender evaluation and implementation of security systems at treatment plants- Compiling site emergency plans for all the 25 water and wastewater treatment plants
