I am a researcher with a public sector professional background, having worked at state, federal and local government levels across several disciplines: organisational capability, human resources, corporate change, project management and facility management. In state government I conducted a successful mentoring program - this was very rewarding as it works multi-dimensionally on building organisational linkages and productive relationships. In local government I ran a widely respected community leadership program that won an Innovation Award. I enjoy making a difference, engaging with creative people and working collaboratively. In 2016 I undertook a contract in the higher education sector supporting legal education programs for professionals and the general community.I have recently completed doctoral research (assessed as Outstanding/Excellent) on the role of court administrators, with a view to publication. The research focuses on the unique legal culture of the magistrates' courts. It impacted substantially on the development of the legal system as we know it today and on the justice experience of thousands of Victorians. Clerks were known as the "poor man's lawyer" and until the 1980s were designated candidates for the Bench. Their role in the People's Court as gatekeepers and the "backstop of justice" made for rewarding study and analysis.Specialties: Writing (research, reports, speeches); project management; counselling; high-level written communication and research skills; change interventions; learning and development; human resources management; creative thinking; interviewing; corporate investigations. I speak and write French, am a practising artist and am widely read and well travelled. I have had some enjoyable adventures both on land and at sea!
