I am responsible for the overall management and operation of the firm’s sustainability initiative. My primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, actions necessary to establish and operationalize the creation of the Sustainability PMO while performing the long-term function of driving and coordinating sustainability activities within Booz Allen. I develop strategies to address issues such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution prevention, waste elimination, transportation, education, and building design; manage and establish sustainability goals for the firm; develop plans and operational processes required for the Sustainability PMO to become an operational entity; monitor and evaluate effectiveness of sustainability programs; identify and plan long-term service offerings for sustainability; develop or oversee the development of marketing or outreach media for sustainability projects or events as well as sustainability evaluation or monitoring systems; develop sustainability reports, presentations, or proposals for supplier, employee, academia, media, government, public interest, or other groups; research environmental sustainability issues, concerns, or stakeholder interests; and create toolkits necessary to support communications, control, and monitoring activities defined during the office creation.

Deputy PM for Booz Allen's support to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations and Environment) Environmental Management Directorate. In this role, I led the firm's engineering and analytical support assisting the EM Directorate with environmental decision-making and policy analysis, communications and outreach strategy development, legislative and regulatory tracking, compliance monitoring, performance measurement, and process improvement. My responsibility covered all areas of operational compliance including air, water, environmental planning, range sustainment, and BRAC general support.

At Tetra Tech I managed the firm’s support to the US EPA’s Brownfields and Land Revitalization Technology Support Center (BTSC) with the EPA Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (OSRTI) Technology Innovation and Field Services Division (TIFSD). In that role, I oversaw and provided technical guidance and communications/outreach support to the EPA’s efforts to advocate the introduction, acceptance, and use of innovative technologies and approaches for site characterization and cleanup. I also managed a team providing site-specific technical assistance to site managers seeking to implement green remediation approaches including evaluating sites and remedial systems for opportunities to apply best management practices in the areas of energy requirements, air emissions, water requirements and impacts on water resources, land and ecosystem impacts, material consumption and waste generation, and long-term stewardship. I evaluated and recommended design options for reducing the site environmental footprint within engineering parameters set by existing remedial systems; identifying the engineering issues associated with implementing renewable energy or green remediation options at the site, general cost estimates, and funding resources and opportunities; and ensuring the broad application of recommendations to other similar sites. In addition to providing support to the US EPA, I was the program manager for Tetra Tech’s support to the Environmental Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment (DUSD(I&E)/EM). The program support covered a broad array of services including: environmental restoration, conservation, Executive Order implementation, and other areas.
