Formally in the automotive industry, myself and husband Steve have always helped homeless pets. After more than 2 decades of assisting people with their auto body needs, caring for aging parents, we learned how short life truly was and what was utterly the most important. How we wanted to spend our next decades. Rather than be in the service of people, we chose to be in the service of animals in need. As the founders of Barky Pines Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, the 3 of us are passionate about our mission. Saving the most urgent of the homeless animals of Palm Beach County. We are the second largest puller from the county shelter. We also are a stray hold facility for the county. As space permits we take in lost pets so they can avoid the county shelter. We strive to educate and assist our community with their pets, keeping more pets with their families and out of shelters. visit schools to educated the next generation. We visit hospitals to provide the doctors and nurses , and occasionally patients, some much needed decompression and relaxation with dogs. We provide sanctuary to the disabled and senior animals. Caring for them for their lifetime. We have a 6 acre, work in progress. farm in Loxahatchee, FL. We currently have the ability to house 50 dogs a dozen cats and and over 100 farm animals. We love what we do, we love our mission, but we don't do it alone. Although the 3 of us do all the care, without our community's support, we could not save nearly as many homeless pets.
