Design and prototyping of a radar based non-contact fluid level sensor. Sensor will be robust to foam and agitation. Project includes competitor bench-marking and prototype verification, with development of test methods for future work at Georg Fischer.

Completed test method validation for TruDi Navwire Verification Testing. Redeveloped two test methods and executed Gage R&R studies on three test methods. Developed a preliminary report on in-house manufacturing techniques to guide third party manufacturers. Generated manufacturing processes for in-house R&D prototypes. Contributed to design of device accessory and team design process of next generation Relieva SpinPlus device.

Developed proof of concept designs for low-cost, wireless laparoscopic surgical devices. Contributed to parts selection, design, and prototyping of a smoke evacuator and endoscope with prototype costs under $100 each. Developed test procedures to test smoke evacuator functionality. Researched device sterility requirements to determine intended use procedures. Successfully implemented wireless device prototypes, removing the necessity for wall power units which cost in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and severely limit the accessibility of the surgery.

Assisted students in circuit design basic debugging skills. Aided instructors in assembly of class materials. Served as a resource for experiment design and project management. Graded student lab reports.

Assisted student participation in hands-on work in modeling, systems design and control. Instructed students in soldering and oscilloscope skills, assisted professors in class setup and course development.

Designed two labs exposing students to prototyping methods and mathematical modeling. Assembled, calibrated, and developed student exercises for a Stereolithography printer, Sherline Mill, and 3D Scanner. Proctored student work in the Design Studio and graded student projects.

Used electrospinning to create collagen nanofibers mimicking corneal structure. Normalized fiber diameter of nanofibers of different composition, investigating effect of extracellular matrix on cell protein expression. Presented work at the European Chapter Meeting of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society, Davos Switzerland, June 2017.

Worked with Dr. Chris Walker studying Radio Astronomy. Part of the Large Balloon Reflector (LBR) and the Stratospheric Terahertz Observatory (STO) projects. Designed the optimally reflective adaptive secondary mirror for LBR, which will be used when the project launches later this year.
