• Analyzed the basal Tropic Shale samples near Big Water, Utah for planktic and benthic foraminifera in order to document the nature of the paleoenvironment of an excavated pliosaur: Brachauchenius lucasi.
• Samples spanned 7 meters of the Tropic Shale. Determined transgression and regression cycles of foraminiferal assemblages.
• Determined water conditions including temperature, salinity and or turbidity. Analysis consisted of sample prepping, performing microscopy, counting samples, and essential lab duties.
• Findings were reported in graph and narratives using MS Excel and other methods.
• Six week paid Bromery Prize Undergraduate internship, resulting in Geological Society of America Poster with co-author Dr. Mark Leckie, Session 260, T242, Conservation Paleobiology, The Microfossil Record, presented.
