Manager Of Engineering Services
CurrentScope of responsibility: Lead a staff of approximately 50 engineers, technicians, clerks, graphic designers and programmers through 7 direct reports as the Manager of the Engineering Services Division. Administer a $5 million annual operating and approx. $50 million capital budget. Oversee EBMUD's Engineering Dam Safety Program, Alt. Chief Dam Safety Engineer. Manage engineering technical services including: civil/geotechnical engineering, specifications, cost estimating, facilities drafting, mapping, graphic design, engineering records & architectural engineering. Responsible for advancing dam safety, emergency response and planning, design quality control, electronic archiving, as well as standardization of administrative processes.Represent EBMUD in permit negotiations with various federal, state and local agencies. Lead community meetings and work with community groups, county public works and elected officials. Extensive experience with public presentations and presentations to EBMUD’s elected Board of Directors. Contributing author and reviewer of the Engineering and Construction Department’s Emergency Response Plan, Dam Emergency Response Annex/Plan and numerous other Departmental and District documents. Extensive experience with public procurement, including consultant selection, negotiations, public works contracting. Oversee the bid and award of all District waterside capital construction contracts.
