Currently working on multiple web projects for local dog training service while searching for an (ideally) full-time onsite position. Rebuilding and expanding two existing sites and creating several new ones. Hand-coding HTML and CSS; implementing Google AdSense/AdWords campaigns and affiliate programs; copyediting and optimizing text with organic SEO results in mind; facilitated publication of client's successful Kindle ebook.

Meticulously researched questions on a broad variety of topics for this NBC production. My previous experience in copyediting/proofreading later led to my being chosen from the research team to provide final review/copyedit of all questions that had made it through the approval process.

Until a company reorganization in 2013, I was part of a team of crack professionals who made sure that all the content the company put out there - website copy, email campaigns, print ads, banner ads, packaging and collateral materials, instruction manuals, presentations, etc. - was as close to perfect as possible. I moved from the Web QA team to the Proofreading team in 2011. I also used to write the occasional quiz for the newsletter, so if you Google me and the second result is about the history of potatoes, there's your explanation.

Part-time position reviewing and creating content for Southern California's premier jazz website. Through submitted press releases, news items found on other sites, and pursuing more information on events that have been listed on our calendar, I put together 3-5 news stories per week; I also recruited local jazz musicians and aficionados to write columns for the site.

I managed multiple website projects, largely for nonprofits, associations and cities. This included, among other things, creating schedules of project-related tasks and following them through to completion; organic search engine optimization strategies; staging content using one of three content management systems; troubleshooting those CMSes and seeing issues through to resolution; and proofreading and copyediting content.

We moved to San Luis Obispo for several years when my husband accepted a contract position there (if you're thinking of hiring me for a Los Angeles-area job, please rest assured that won't be happening again!). There weren't any full-time positions there that aligned with my experience, so while working part-time at an independent record store, I built websites for a number of small retailers and independent musicians.

I started out as a proofreader in the Marketing department, proofing the company's catalogs and promotional materials in US English, UK English, French and Swedish. I actually speak two of those languages. They both contain the word "English." I later accepted a position in the IT department both proofreading the company's website and testing it in multiple browsers to be sure nothing went horribly awry, and in many cases figuring out how to fix it.
