Held full management authority for all aspects of department including strategic planning, operations, organizational development and performance consulting. Launched a competency based management development program which resulted in lowering turnover in management and supervisory ranks. Led assessment and redesign of on-the-job training, resulting in a decrease in resignations within the first 90 days. Redesigned clinical education programs and redeployed staff to provide improved training with a decrease in costs. Won awards for Best Practice and for Excellence in Program Innovation from the Florida Hospital Association. Reengineered diabetes education program to provide 24/7 coverage, and outreach to the community. Increased satisfaction and decreased readmissions in 30 days by 11% in the first year. Designed a database to track hospital acquired pressure ulcers. Data served as foundation for a JACHO cited best practice initiative which resulted in a decrease in pressure ulcers from 5.7% to 1.24 %. Grew strategic partnerships with colleges and universities to bridge the practice/academia divide and provide opportunities for faculty practice and adjunct faculty appointments.
