Accessioning ArchivistBoston College Dec 2019 - Mar 2022As the inaugural Accessioning Archivist at Boston College's John J. Burns Special Collections Library, I collaborated with colleagues to develop and launch a program supporting the library’s mission. Together, we oversaw the accessioning process for archives, institutional records, and special collections, working to create, document, and improve workflows for the acquisition and preservation of both analog and born-digital materials. During this time, our team reviewed digital preservation practices, implemented the Born-Digital Acquisition Program, and renewed Boston College’s partnership with the Academic Preservation Trust (APTrust), a consortium of higher education institutions committed to preserving digital content. We also launched interactive and extensible description processes, enhancing access to and usability of archival collections. -

Project ArchivistBoston Psychoanalytic Society And Institute Jan 2014 - Jun 2014Newton, MassachusettsDuring the allotted time, I completed a unique project surveying, processing, reclassifying, and conserving a recent accession of multilingual post-WWII materials featuring the correspondence between Marie Bonaparte, Heinz Hartmann and Anna Freud and members of the International Psychoanalytic Society. Totaling 12 linear feet, the project required the creation of original metadata for digitized materials generated from institutional records. After determining manuscript materials in need of conservation treatment and recommending appropriate treatment, I researched potential manuscript content and made recommendations to the BPSI archivist including the identification of restricted records, out-of-scope manuscript materials as well as cases necessitating deaccessioning and transference to associated institutions. During this assignment, I was encouraged to conduct independent research focused upon special libraries, access and HIPAA compliancy for peer-to-peer instruction.
