Grief Dialogues uses art as the artistic expression most likely to reach an audience on a personal level. Theatre is the ultimate empathy generator and the productions allow us, as individuals and as a society, to face the untold, unheard, and often misunderstood tales of life and death. Our purpose is to stimulate a conversation among health care professionals on how to improve medical training that includes up-to-date research and compassion. We accomplish this through theatre. It takes us out of our comfort zone, and expects us to sit with other humans, sharing only a story. Whether you are a doctor or patient, a grieving family member or nurse, there is something about theatre that transform the way we consider humanity. We learn by engaging in theatre. The visceral response you feel puts you in the shoes of someone else – someone you could empathize with – if you only a chance. The main goal in theatre is to feel what another is feeling, whether you are an actor on the stage or a member of the audience sitting in a dark theatre.
