Strategic communications, including corporate communications (internal and external), marketing, media relations, public affairs, and public relations.Specialties: Marketing communications and knowledge managementWhen I started my own company in Spain years ago, I could not foresee how the lessons from that experience would help me throughout my career. Yet working with people from other cultures and backgrounds has enabled me to build high-performing, diverse teams in companies and nonprofits. My entrepreneurial spirit prompted me to accept a leadership position in a startup dedicated to sustainable development, create systems in institutions where they previously did not exist, and start two Toastmasters clubs. No matter the endeavor, I build relationships with integrity, engage stakeholders with humility, and plan communications campaigns that help organizations meet their goals.Currently, I lead communications for Counterpart International, a nonprofit that works with local partners to help communities thrive. As a member of the senior leadership team, I ensure that the organization meets its strategic objectives.Previously, I led communications for a $150 million global health project funded by USAID, building the project’s brand, sharing key findings and results, overseeing the production and dissemination of more than 200 publications, and managing a website with 2,000 resources. As co-chair of the Global Health Knowledge Collaborative (2017-2022), I endeavored to make our group (and knowledge management generally) more inclusive, diverse, and equitable. As co-chair of the Society for International Development ICT for Development work group, I brought our sector's thought leaders onto the program to share knowledge and engage in lively discussion on a variety of topics. My client experience includes CDC, Feld Entertainment, USAID, the VA, NRC, Army National Guard, and Wyeth. Country experience includes Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia.
