In a manager role, I am responsible for overseeing all marketing and communications activities at GACC Midwest in collaboration with the rest of the marketing team and other departments at the Chamber. This includes:- Working directly with German companies in the US to tailor their marketing strategy and expand their LinkedIn presence in the US market- Editing and approving all social media posts, newsletters, and all written materials, digital and printed- Creating strategic marketing plans/timelines for upcoming events, conferences, and delegations- Setting sponsorship deliverable pricing and offering sponsorship packages to Chamber members- Collaborating with other GACCs on joint efforts, events, and publications- Giving presentations on marketing best practices for German companies (in English and German)

GACC Midwest's continuing mission is to promote German-American business relations and to support trade and investment between Germany and the United States, especially the Midwest.As part of the Marketing & Communications Team, I ensure Chamber communications are clear and consistent, both externally and internally, and support with the promotion of Chamber events and activities. I oversee drafting and posting on Chamber social media accounts, especially LinkedIn; write and approve newsletters across departments; create multimedia content, including video; proofread all written content, both digital and print; and support with selling ads and sponsorships to our members.

I brought positive community news to the New Eastside, Streeterville, and West Loop neighborhoods as part of the fast-growing group of publications now known as Chicago Star Media. My responsibilities included:- Interviewing doormen and women and local leaders- Attending Chicago City Council and CAPS meetings as well as other community meetings and events- Contributing photography, research, editing, and fact checking for other reporters on my team and the paper as a whole- Leading sales meetings for advertisements in the paper- Pitching topics and helping develop strategy and direction for the paper as part of the editorial team, working closely with the publisher and managing editors

I helped Austrian students ages 14-20 improve their English language skills as a teaching assistant at the Austrian secondary agricultural college Francisco Josephinum. I planned and taught interactive hour-long lessons, supervised exams, and conducted one-on-one speaking practice lessons.

In this role, I wrote profiles of homicide victims in Chicago for the Sun-Times Homicide Watch. I chose the profile subjects and contacted and interviewed family members and friends, following standard journalistic practices. I also maintained the Homicide Watch WordPress website.

I supported the Advancement Communications Department's editorial efforts by proofreading university marketing materials, writing and editing articles for Loyola Magazine and the university website, and posting on Facebook and Twitter.

I pitched, wrote, and edited stories for Loyola's student newspaper, covering topics including campus safety, tech, and opinion pieces. This involved interviewing university employees, officials, and students, taking photos, and submitting FOIA requests.

I helped students succeed in their German-language studies by answering questions and reviewing concepts, facilitating review sessions for exams, and developing additional resources for language students such as online tutorials and quizzes.
