My law practice focuses on the alcohol beverage, food, and hospitality industries. I concentrate on litigation, compliance, and promotions matters related to the rules, regulations and business practices governing the marketing, sale and consumption of malt beverages, wine, distilled spirits and other regulated products in the alcohol and food industry. Our clients are major alcohol suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, marketing companies, and other members of the hospitality industry.My litigation experience in complex commercial, franchise, and intellectual property (in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies throughout the United States) provides a strong background in drafting contracts related to advertising, distribution, importation and related issues associated with the food and beverage industry. In addition, I frequently advise clients on regulatory compliance issues associated with software development and digital and social media, as well as the intersection of state and federal alcohol regulations and Federal Trade Commission regulations as they pertain to sweepstakes, contests and other games.My practice also involves managing corporate transactions involving alcohol beverage licensees, as well as the large scale liquor licensing transitions to new or changed ownership which accompany those transactions.Focus Areas: Litigation, mediation, administrative law and trade practice regulation, advertising, couponing, tied house, marketing and distribution, franchise, gaming, licensing and compliance.Note: In light of a recent advertising/ethics opinion from The Florida Bar, I’ve decided not to accept Skills and Expertise endorsements and have “hidden” that section.
