Serve | Empower | ConnectSERVE - While working as a sales associate at Kate Spade, I learned that the industry was customer-centric, heavily relying on the staff to add value to the guests' overall experience. With less of a focus on sales, and more on connecting with each guest, I went above and beyond to give prompt and comprehensive attention to customer needs. By providing a customer-centric experience to each guest, I was able to achieve the highest ADT (Average Dollar per Transaction) for May 2022, resulting in one key takeaway: connecting with customers builds trust and loyalty, fostering an environment where they want to give you business (leading to increased sales).EMPOWER - I volunteer 2 hours each week at the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club with Read to Succeed to promote reading literacy for children in grades K-5. As reading literacy is predictive of future success, I practice reading skills, like phonetics and vocabulary, with the children to improve their skillset and encourage engagement with a customized incentive program. CONNECT - Starting in January 2022 (through May 2022), I was the Vice President of Corporate Relations for the campus organization Retail Innovation Organization (RIO). My duties included networking with companies in the retail space, securing guest speakers for events, and building professional development workshops for our members. During this position, I demonstrated my ability to connect with others professionally and "pitch" an event for them to co-host with RIO. At the conclusion of my term, American Eagle, Maui Jim, Hilton, and other companies had delivered guest lectures for RIO members.
