About Elizabeth Flake

I was born a hostess at heart and discovered my passion for entertaining and hospitality at a young age. After graduating from UNC, I started event and wedding planning for family and friends and leaped in 2019 to a full-time position in the hospitality industry when I joined A Southern Soirée.I hit the ground running in my new role, including (much to my delight) our own December 2021 nuptials being featured in Martha Stewart Weddings. In 2022, I purchased A Southern Soirée from the long-time owner and have worked diligently to continue the growth and success of the business. My innovative planning, visionary designs, and commitment to excellence are what have made me an award-winning and esteemed planner.I am an alumna of the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Media Studies and Production. My studies also included a minor in Afro-American Studies and a certification in Sports Communication through the School of Media and Journalism. My education and work experience have given me an essential background in sales, project management, and communication for a variety of industries.
