Growing businesses and building great teams are what I love to do. My board director, advisory and executive career spans financial and professional services, and has focused on strategy, marketing and business development, product innovation, organizational performance and communications in a global, multi-business and digital context. My experience includes leading change in regulated banks and consumer and B2B payments companies in the US, UK and globally. Driving digital and tech transformation for customer and business impact is a long-standing career theme, going all the way back to my days as a McKinsey partner.Today I am an Operating Partner with Searchlight Capital Partners, advising the firm on investments in the financial services space, and working with portfolio companies to deliver their strategies and growth ambitions.I am on the Boards of Wise plc, the global fintech payments leader, TSB Bank plc, one of the UK’s leading retail banks (Chairing Remuneration Committees at both) and 7IM, a technology-led wealth management platform. I’m also an investor director for open-banking payments start-up Currensea, and Sightline Payments, which serves the gaming and sports betting vertical in the US, and on the board of the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus. Prior boards include Vanquis Banking Group plc, a major consumer lender in the UK, Evelyn Partners, a top UK wealth manager and professional services firm, Hastings Group plc, a FTSE 250 insuror, Western Union International Bank, SaaS provider ThinkTank (Chair), Dollar Financial Group, hibu plc, Home and Savings Bank, and various Barclays JVs. Advisory and board observer roles have included Netspend, Coadjute, Datami, ReachMobile, ReachNext, Digi.me and Bink.My blue-chip CMO, strategy and product experience includes Barclaycard and Barclays' retail and commercial banking businesses globally; consumer, commercial and payments businesses of Bank of America; and Freshfields, the global law firm. I also led Barclaycard’s UK co-branded credit card business. In my last full-time executive role I was EVP and Chief Strategy, Product and Marketing Officer with Western Union. My professional foundations were built at Morgan Stanley as a financial analyst, and later as an Associate and Partner in the Financial Institutions and Organization practices at McKinsey, where I co-led the ground-breaking “War for Talent” study, which fostered greater focus in this area. Early executive roles were global in scope and included Exco-level posts with Reader’s Digest and Bingham McCutchen.
