Storytelling can save us. It is with this general philosophy that I approach my work with high school students, I want them to read others' stories so that they become empowered to recognize how to tell their own, and learn to see the world through the many lenses that a well-read, educated person is capable of seeing. I have worked in libraries in some capacity, volunteer or other, since I was 12 years old. I know libraries, libraries know me, and in an age where media literacy is one of the most critical skills, reading has never been more important.
