My current work as a FLE focuses on increasing healthy family and relational functioning from a systemic, preventative approach. Rather than aiming at behavior modification alone- I start by helping clients identify the ecological systems that can affect behavior and relational health. After we build a foundation from a healthy understanding of the “why” behind behavior, we can explore tools and resources to change that behavior and improve relational health and social functioning.In private consultations with parents, couples, and individuals I start by helping my clients identify their needs, values, and goals to guide future decision making. Using those as goalposts we can explore skills and tools most relevant for their value systems and goals.In group settings after we identify the "why" behind behaviors like childhood tantrums or adult conflict avoidance, we then proceed to address both the systemic “root causes” AND behavioral outcomes with a wholistic, evidence-based approach.For churches, schools, non-profits, private organizations and community centers I offer parenting classes as an Independent Facilitator of Love and Logic, as well as tailored content-specific classes to meet particular organizational or community needs, such as Conflict Resolution, Co-Parenting, Needs Assessment, Resource Management.I have training and experience in designing, distributing, and presenting courses and workshops in a variety of content areas related to family life, including: -Families and Individuals in Societal Contexts -Internal Dynamics of Families -Human Growth and Development Across the Lifespan -Human Sexuality Across the Lifespan -Interpersonal Relationships -Family Resource Management -Parenting Education and Guidance -Family Law and Public Policy -Professional Ethics and Practice -Family Life Education and MethodologyFor more information on everything Family Life Education can include, visit NCFR's website below.

Utilizing VIPKid's platform and curriculum and my own knowledge of development, culture, education, and language to teach a variety of ages and abilities. I taught young students that had no prior experience with English, and adolescent students that were learning to converse in English in professional settings. I had to scaffold VIPKid's boxed curriculum into an engaging, developmentally appropriate, interesting experience that would keep parents and students coming back for more. I learned so much about language acquisition, the wonders and pitfalls of static curriculum, how to adapt the same lesson for a 5 year old and 15 year old, and a great deal more!I left this position during the pandemic to care for my family and school my own kids from home.

I wrote, revised, and adapted teaching strategies, lesson plans, and presentations according to Common Core standards for teachers across the US. I helped bridge the gap between highly experienced teachers, content partners, and web developers to create a streamlined, effective, easy-to-use-resource for educators and administrators to explore new strategies and methodologies. I wrote instructional content to help teachers implement new practices, along with presentations and activities for students to use in tandem with our teacher resources. I helped scaffold and differentiate lesson plans and activities to meet a variety of student needs at various academic levels in the same classroom.

I worked at Custom Cleaners while studying at UTEP in El Paso. I established and maintained long-term relationships between customers and our multiple locations. I provided customers with a welcoming, personal, professional quality of service in a competitive market. I learned how to quickly memorize names and faces to make each customer feel integral and seen. I frequently resolved disputes between customer expectations and outcomes, and learned how to actively listen to upset customers in a way that helped them feel heard and valued. I implemented a new software while I was there and updated old records into a new computer system to increase productivity and lessen the work load for the staff after I moved away from El Paso. I was trusted with our customer's most valuable articles of clothing and learned to listen to customers exact specifications and requests, and communicate those effectively to the cleaning staff. I was often left in charge of our east side location and was trusted with the responsibility of managing the store on my own every Saturday, and most week nights.
