As a member of the Ancestry team located at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) I am involved in digitising College records in order to help Ancestry customers discover their family story and gain a new level of understanding about their past. My tasks include:- Operating and maintaining imaging equipment- Quality auditing resulting images and transporting data- Liaising with RCPI on behalf of Ancestry to ensure clear and effective communication- Completing self directed projects and troubleshooting on my own - I am the only Ancestry employee at RCPI so must be self-sufficient

- Working as a member of the Ultramicroscopy team, I found computational methods for increasing video frame rates on the Nion UltraSTEM microscope with the goal of seeing in-situ events live at atomic scales- Researched and trialed methods for image reconstruction like inpainting and interpolation- Wrote bespoke bilinear interpolation code for image reconstruction in Python- Increased the achieved frame rate with my bespoke image reconstruction method (with a high degree of accuracy) to allow live viewing of atomic scale in-situ events- Utilised 2D Fourier transforms to analyse data retention for different image reconstruction methods at high spatial frequencies

- Improved treatment outcomes for patients with ventricular tachycardia by gaining a better understanding of flaws in imaging technology and how that manifests in four dimensional Computed Tomography (CT) artifacts- Coded in Linux and Python to both produce and analyse thousands of data sets of "phantom" 4D CT scan images- Observed a decrease in frequency of required treatment (radioablation) in patients as a result of our work understanding motion artifacts- Transported data via high performance computing clusters to share a high volume of data with my team and delegated computationally demanding code to computing nodes to streamline data processing
