I have throughout my years of qualification practiced entirely within the traditional private client field most recently having developed and led a substantial private client team incorporating Agricultural Estates and Rural Business and Contentious Probate Teams.I have wide experience in providing bespoke Will drafting services and the associated tax and trust advice that is required to a wide range of clients, as well as advising on the application of powers of attorney. Now primarily focusing on delivering a discreet private client service to clients with considerable wealth and reputation, substantial estates and complex business interests, I work closely with Howes Percival's top tier corporate team in ensuring business owners have a clear and robust succession plan in place.I have, since 2001 been appointed to the Court of Protection's Panel of Deputies and have maintained a substantial portfolio of Deputyship clients and developed expertise in both contentious and non-contentious Court of Protection practice. I was re-appointed to the new Panel of Court of Protection appointed Deputies April 2011 and is now one of less than 50 UK individuals occupying this post.Complex/large estate administration has formed a large proportion of my probate experience and I have tended to focus on estates relating to agriculture, estates and other business owning clients and matters where there have been specialist issues to deal with.I have a clear understanding of the use of trusts to preserve and protect assets, especially where there are vulnerable beneficiaries to be catered for, and has acted as professional trustee/deputy/attorney for numerous clients.An area now under development is our Trust and Probate Dispute resolution team offering advice on all issues relating to the validity of Wills, the actions of executors and trustees, and challenges to the provision made by Wills or on intestacy.

I developed and managed the Private Client Team between 2003 and 2011 including developing Contentious Probate, Court of Protection Practice and Agricultural and Rural business as specialist areas.
