As the MOSES Legislative Director, I lead legislative and political strategy for a union representing over 3,300 technical, engineering and scientific employees of 29 different agencies of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

As a Director at The Sheridan Group, I managed federal advocacy and provided strategic leadership for a variety of nonprofit clients. I regularly lobbied members of Congress, the presidential administration and their staff on a range of social issues, early childhood education, access to affordable healthcare and special education resources. I also co-chaired a coalition of 20+ nonprofits focused on bipartisan bicameral maternal and child health legislation on behalf of one of our biggest clients.

In this role, I advocated for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients with federally elected officials on complex policy issues. I presented annually at a national conference of educators on federal education policy, including the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as well as strategies for effective advocacy. I was the lead author of Democratic and Republican presidential prospectuses outlining clients’ policy priorities for the 2016 campaigns.

As Communications Director, I developed a local and national press strategy to highlight the Congresswoman’s priorities, including her Immigration Fairness Agenda. I worked with the Congresswoman to prepare for print, radio and television interviews, and created and maintained a social media presence for the Congresswoman on Facebook, Twitter & YouTube. I also served as the Congresswoman's legislative staffer for the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Congressional Democratic Women's Working Group.

As Communications Director for Congressman Olver, I wrote press releases, coordinated media appearances and spoke on record for the Congressman with members of the local press corps. I worked with the Congressman and Chief of Staff to plan messaging strategy, and co-led a website redesign and expansion into social media, including Facebook & Twitter.

As Press Secretary, I served as the Congressman’s spokesperson with local press, wrote press releases. As Legislative Assistant for Telecommunications, I advised and briefed the Congressman on telecommunications issues and legislation.
