    Summary of research experience:Developed and optimized new methods of triggering anionic polymerizations and characterized the resulting polymer using DMA, rheology, TGA, DSC, and FTIR. I also have experience managing undergraduate students with their projects, enforcing safety protocols, teaching labs, and promoting team building behavior.Detailed information of research experience:• Analyzed thermal frontal polymerization of cyanate ester composites for potential use as a new airplane materialo Monitored and calculated front velocity & front temperatureo Used DSC & TGA to characterize thermal properties of polymerized composite• Developed and executed a research plan to study the programmable time-lapse polymerization of monomers triggered by the change in pH of a clock reaction. I made changes as needed to optimize efficiency and results. We wanted to create a new system that could frontally polymerize at room temperature with cheap materials. o Developed necessary conditions to perform isothermal frontal polymerization with this new systemo Analyzed fresh and degraded polymer via the rheometer/DSC/DMAo Systems studied : • Bromate-sulfite clock perturbed by ammonia with polycarbodiimides and maleic or malonic acid Clock times can appear to be delayed by the addition of ammonia up to a certain concentration. However, the ammonia does not decrease the reaction rate of the clock reagents. Because of this, it cannot be a storable system and further research with the addition of monomers to the clock reaction was haulted. • Urea-urease clock with ethoxylated trimethylolpropane tris(3-mercaptopropionate) and poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate It was found that the clock time, gel time, degelation time, and number of crosslinks can be programmed by adjusting the initial reagent concentrations. Also, fronts propagate with constant velocity, velocity changes with reagent concentrations, and upward moving fronts travel faster than downward moving fronts.
