Interactive Marketing Specialist
As the interactive marketing specialist, I was responsible for digital marketing and community management at the Idaho Lottery. Our community includes our 200,000-and-growing person VIP Club, our social media channels which combined have a following of over 70,000 as well as our email marketing list. Along with my team and our agency partners, I develop strategies for each platform and implement them simultaneously. In 2020, I was awarded a Silver Rocky from the Idaho Advertising Federation for social media strategy and a Gold Rocky for public relations.I had the opportunity to spearhead two new programs to benefit Idaho public schools. The first, Classroom Wishlists, invites teachers to send the Idaho Lottery their "wishes" which can be everything from books to art supplies to water fountains! In the first year, we granted 10 wishes for over $15,000! In the fall of 2019, I was instrumental in launching the Bucks For Books program along with the Idaho Commission for Libraries and Barnes and Noble Boise. In the first year of the program, we raised over $30,000 for Idaho elementary school libraries.
Assistant Sports Information Director
At The College of Idaho, I was responsible for developing strategies for public relations, social media and our website--in particular, I grew our Instagram following by over 20 percent in 10 months and boosted engagement by 50 percent. In addition to the maintenance I did on our website and social media feeds, I also maintained the Coyote Connections mobile app for our student-athletes. I created an internship program with the marketing department. During all home events, I managed the press table and handled the collection of statistics and distribution of those statistics to coaches, media, the NAIA and onto our website. I managed one student assistant responsible for in-game music and the video board and several community volunteers at each game.
Social Media And Technology Coordinator
As the social media and technology specialist, I was responsible for unprecedented growth via social media on behalf of the Idaho High School Activities Association. In just six months, I had tripled the following on our Facebook and Twitter pages - by the end of my first year, we had the most successful Twitter page among the country's high school activity associations. In addition to social media, I also managed our website and email campaigns as well as acting as a press liaison for media outlets around the state. I also worked with our major stakeholders and sponsors to establish and tell our common story. Finally, I oversaw a statewide sportsmanship committee where I set the annual agenda, oversaw regular meetings and implemented all sportsmanship programs throughout the year.
Graduate Assistant For Athletic Communications
As a graduate assistant for athletic communications at Northern Arizona University, I handled the communications strategy and implementation for the cross country, track and field and golf programs which included writing daily press releases, creating media guides, game programs and other collateral, managing all social media pages and fielding all national and local media requests. During my time at Northern Arizona, I attended the NCAA Cross Country Championships with the nationally ranked men's cross country program, and I organized Big Sky Championship events for indoor track and field and women's golf. While organizing Big Sky Championship events, I was responsible for the recruitment, training and management of a 10+ person statistics and media relations team.
